Cynthia A. Chestek

Cynthia A. Chestek (S’04-M’10) was born in Erie, PA, USA. She received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH, USA, in 2005, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University, Stanford, CA, USA, in 2010.

From 2010 to 2012, she was a Research Associate at the Stanford Department of Neurosurgery. In 2012 she became an Assistant Professor of biomedical engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, USA. She is the author of 26 full-length scientific articles. Her research interests include high-density interfaces to the nervous system for the control of multiple degree of freedom hand and finger movements.
