David J. Warren (S’76–M’82–SM’14) received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Washington State University, Pullman, WA, USA, in 1979, the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Washington, Seattle, WA, USA, in 1982, and the Ph.D. degree in bioengineering from the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, UT, USA, in 2006.

Currently, he is the Research Director for the Center for Neural Engineering and a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Bioengineering, University of Utah, Salt Lake City, UT, USA. His research focuses on the decoding of afferent and encoding of efferent neuronal signals in the peripheral nervous system for use with neuroprostheses to restore sensory and motor function after spinal cord injury or limb loss.
