Romain Meeusen

Romain Meeusen was born in Essen, Belgium, in 1958. He received the M.S. degree in movement sciences, the M.S. degree in rehabilitation sciences, and the Ph.D. degree in rehabilitation sciences from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Brussels, Belgium, in 1980, 1982, and 1996, respectively.

He is Head of the Department of Human Physiology at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Brussels, Belgium. His research interest is focussed on exercise and the brain in health and disease, exploring the brain during sports performance. He is also Director of the Human Performance lab of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel.

Dr. Meeusen is President of the Belgian Society of Kinesiology, board member of the European (ECSS) and the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM).
